Pyrite Suns, dating in age to 350 million years old, are found in coal mines at about the 300-ft. level in a very narrow seam lying on top of the coal. Dinosaur Bone

100 million years ago, during the Jurassic age, dinosaurs ruled the Colorado Plateau.  When they died, a few were covered by mud and sand and eventually were buried thousands of feet below the surface, where their bones were petrified (filled or replaced by minerals such as agate, silica, iron, calcite, etc.) leaving the cell structure clearly visible.  See Dinosaur Dung
