The tonal quality of this print won a masters award for B&W printing in an international juried show. The subject is an outstanding example from the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains of California. While these are the oldest single-trunk living trees, the harsh climate and decay had destroyed this delicate pattern by the following year.
